The death of gospel singer Shari Martin, the artist who sang the song ‘Rafiki Pesa’ left fans and the whole of Kenya mourning the great loss of a legendary gospel singer.
The death of Shari Martin was shared by a fellow artist known as Douglas Jiveti on the 5th of August 2024.
Marthin is said to have been ill and on a seek bed at the kenyatta National Hospital getting to a week, but could not make it out alive as he finally gave up the ghost.
Some of Martin’s hit tracks include: Rafiki Pesa, Tangazo la Ajabu, Yesu Ndio Commando and Happy New year together with his dedication to the kenyan gospel music industry made him a celebrated icon.
The impact of Shari Martin on Kenyan gospel music is of the doubt due to reactions and comments from fans, colleagues and Kenya citizens. It is also said of him having close ties with the second and fourth presidents of Keya in Person of Daniel Moi and Uhuru Kenyatta who eventually became fans of his, and that greatly impacted his rise in the music industry.
