Gospel singer Lanre Alewilese opened up about his path into gospel music, reflecting on how his early years as a church chorister shaped his journey and revealed the impact of worship in his life.

“I’ve had a heart for worship since I was a child,” Alewilese shared. “Every time I praise God, I feel my strength renewed.”

Alewilese’s music has grown and changed a lot since his debut, influenced by his team and a closer connection with God. “We give all the glory to God…it’s been a great journey and experience so far,” he remarked.

When asked about his new song “Esi Ayo,” Lanre Alewilese shared that it was born out of compassion for those who have been waiting on God for good news. “It’s a reminder that all hope is not lost and that their time is near,” he explained.

Alewilese approaches his creative process with humility, recognizing that inspiration can come at any time. “My inspiration comes from God,” he said with a smile. “Sometimes, we even get song ideas while in the bathroom.”

When it comes to staying relevant in the competitive music industry, Alewilese credits God and stresses the importance of honing one’s skills. “God is the one who keeps a person relevant, but it’s also crucial to perfect your craft,” he advised.

Throughout his journey, Alewilese has faced various challenges, including spiritual attacks and moments of self-doubt. However, he has overcome them through faith and perseverance. “There was a time when I experienced a severe spiritual attack before a show, but God renewed my strength,” he shared.
