The 39th Stellar Gospel Music Award premiered on Saturday July 20, in Las Vegas at Oleans Arena ended with Tye Tribbett and Jekalyn Carr leading with more wins.  Tye Tribbett took home with six awards which include both artist of the year and song of the year for “Only One Night Tho (Live).” He was also honored with the James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Icon Award.

While Jekalyn Carr, led with four awards which include the Albertina Walker Female Artist of the Year award. Melvin Crispell III, Ricky Dillard, and Lisa Knowles-Smith & The Brown Singers left with two awards and gave wonderful performances. 

Chandler Moore, Kierra Sheard, Anthony Brown and group therAPy, Da’ T.R.U.T.H, Israel Houghton, Karen Clark Sheard, Kelontae Gavin, Koryn Hawthorne, Mali Music, Rich Tolbert Jr., Tasha Page-Lockhart, and Tamela Mann were also among those that perform at the 39th Stellar Awards.

Kim Burrell received the Aretha Franklin Icon Award. Kirk Franklin, Erica Campbell, and Angel Taylor also made special appearances.
