Amnesty International urges the quick release of gospel musician Yahaya Sheriff Aminu from Kano State, imprisoned since 2020 for alleged blasphemy via WhatsApp messages. The organization also calls for the immediate release of atheist Mubarak Bala from Kano, detained in 2020 for a Facebook post allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad.

Additionally, Amnesty advocates for the release of Ismaila Sani Isah from Sokoto State, arrested in July 2021 for alleged blasphemous posts against Prophet Muhammad on social media.

The organization emphasizes the need for Nigerian authorities to uphold international legal obligations, safeguarding human rights, including freedom of religion and expression.
