Peg McKamey Bean (Born March 31, 1943 – Died December 26, 2023 Clinton Tennessee, Campbell County) Was born into the family of the former Minister of Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church late Ed and Velma (Hunter) McKamey.

She is an outstanding figure in southern Gospel Music, and a founding member of the Gospel group, “The McKamey’s”.

Peg Bean is known for her remarkable contribution as a singer, songwriter and a business woman. She left an incredible legacy on the genre through her contributions to the McKamey’s.

Peg McKamey was married to Ruben Bean (in the year 1959). The had four children’s together, two daughters Connie Fortner, Sheryl Farris, two son’s Brian Bean, Micheal Bean and several grandchildren.

Her siblings are two sisters Carol McKamey Woodard, Dora McKamey and three brothers Robert McKamey, Jay McKamey and Andy McKamey.
